How Uganda's Education System Operates

The Ugandan educational system is organized into three phases: basic education, which lasts seven years; secondary education, which lasts six years and is divided into lower secondary and upper secondary schools; and post-secondary education, which lasts three to five years. English is the official language of education in Uganda. The education structure's modules are taught and graded in English at all levels. 

The Ugandan government continues to work toward offering free primary education to all children in the nation because it regards education as a fundamental human right. But obstacles to Uganda's educational development, including those related to money, teacher preparation, rural populations, and poor facilities, continue to exist.
